Sister’s Red Review

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

So in keeping with my fairytale retellings, I have a new one for you that is part of a series. Sister’s Red by Jackson Pearce, is a retelling of little red riding hood, and it is a good one. This book is action packed with magic, mystery, and romance thrown into it. This is one big bad wolf you don’t want to miss!

The description was taken from the Goodreads website:

“Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris — the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She’s determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.
Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts ferociously alongside her. But even as more girls’ bodies pile up in the city and the Fenris seem to be gaining power, Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves. She finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax and Scarlett’s only friend — but does loving him mean betraying her sister and all that they’ve worked for?”

Scarlett lives with her sister Rosie, and all she wants to do with her life is to fight werewolves. Rosie loves her sister, but she also wants to make a new life outside of fighting. When they get the chance to move with their friend Silas to another city, they take him up on the offer. However the move has the sisters seeing two different points of view, and when Rosie starts falling for Silas she is worried about how Scarlett will take it. When something unexpected happens can the sisters come together to defeat evil or will evil finally take their lives?

Jackson delivers an amazing story that will have you rethinking the tale of Little Red Riding Hood that you grew up with in a good way. Jackson takes her readers into a brand new world where young ladies are strong, and gives you a dose of sister love while she is at it. You will laugh, scream, and cry with the crazy things these characters get into. You will be pulled into the story, and when the bomb drops you won’t see it coming!

Go hunt for the wolf my dearies!
