Happy Friday Readers!
So I decided to finish up the week with a book that even though I read it years ago, I still turn to it and read it over and over. Insatiable by Meg Cabot, revolves around Vampires, hunters, and one woman who can see a person’s future.
The description was taken from the Goodreads website:
“Sick of hearing about vampires? So is Meena Harper.
But her bosses are making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.
Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die. (Not that you’re going to believe her; no one ever does.)
But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side. It’s a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire-hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, Lucien’s already dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met that she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.
And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . .
If she even has one.”
Meg Cabot proves she can write anything with the start of this series. This book is more geared towards a different audience than her previous books. Meg takes the reader into a world that kind of reminds you of Dracula, and throws you through loop after loop. When you think the story is going to go one way, it takes a sharp turn into a different direction. You will love Lucien and you will hate him at the same time. You won’t be able to put this book down until the very end. Good thing the second book is out, so you can continue the story. Meena is a character that everyone can relate to, especially if you have a tendency to fall for the bad boy!
Anyone who loves reading books with Vampires, magic, mystery, and hunters needs to pick this book up as soon as possible.
