Beauty and the Beast: Lost In A Book Review

Happy Monday Everyone!

So I saw the Aladdin musical yesterday, and it was amazing!! If it comes to your city I highly recommend that you get tickets and see it! Today I am going to be reviewing a book that isn’t exactly a retelling, but takes you into the world of Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly, takes the reader into the world of Beauty and the Beast and gives you a new adventure to fall in love with.

The book description was taken from the Goodreads website:

“Smart, bookish Belle, a captive in the Beast’s castle, has become accustomed to her new home and has befriended its inhabitants. When she comes upon Nevermore, an enchanted book unlike anything else she has seen in the castle, Belle finds herself pulled into its pages and transported to a world of glamour and intrigue. The adventures Belle has always imagined, the dreams she was forced to give up when she became a prisoner, seem within reach again.

The charming and mysterious characters Belle meets within the pages of Nevermore offer her glamorous conversation, a life of dazzling Parisian luxury, and even a reunion she never thought possible. Here Belle can have everything she has ever wished for. But what about her friends in the Beast’s castle? Can Belle trust her new companions inside the pages of Nevermore? Is Nevermore’s world even real? Belle must uncover the truth about the book, before she loses herself in it forever.”

When Belle traded places with her father to become the Beast’s prisoner, she thought her life would be over. But than the Beast introduces her to his massive library, and while hunting for her next read she stumbles upon a book called Nevermore. When Belle opens the book she is transported to another world where she sees she can have everything she ever wanted. But the more time she spends in Nevermore she starts to realize that maybe something isn’t exactly right with it. Can Belle escape from the clutches of the story or will she be stuck within the pages forever?

This book is every bookworms fantasy! I have wished so many times to be transported within the story I was reading, and while reading this book I felt like I was experiencing everything right along with Belle. Jennifer does such an amazing job with this story that it just gives the reader another amazing glimpse into the world that is Beauty and the Beast. Any lover of Beauty and the Beast, will be enchanted from the first page and it will make you love the story even more (even if you don’t think that is possible). When I stumbled across this book in Barns and Noble I knew I had to have it, and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. Any lover of Beauty and the Beast needs to pick up a copy of this amazing book, because if you haven’t read it yet, you are missing one of the greatest additions to the story of Beauty and the Beast that has been written so far!

Go fall into a book and have an adventure my fellow Bookworms!
