Body In The Library Review

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I wanted to review another book by the queen of mystery, Agatha Christie. Body in the Library is the second book that I read by Agatha and it sucked me in from the very first page. The way she wrote a mystery left the reader thinking they knew who did it, and than when the real killer was reveled, it wasn’t who you thought.

The book description was taken from the Goodreads website:

“Colonel Bantry has found the strangled body of an exotic blonde bombshell lying on his library hearth – and the neighbors are beginning to talk! When Miss Marple takes an interest, though, things begin to move along nicely, and its all far more convoluted – and sordid – than the genteel Bantrys could have imagined.

A curmudgeonly financier, his self-absorbed adult children, a couple of pragmatic and clever hotel workers, tons of money and influence, a wild local lad, some smitten girls, the film business, mix into a classic Christie plot filled with twists, turns, and double-backs galore. Plus the glorious settings of A Great House, a fancy Hotel, and an excessively genteel little village, and let’s not forget Miss Marple…”

This was actually my first Miss Marple mystery to read, and let me tell you it won’t be my last. Miss Marple doesn’t let being a woman stop her from solving a murder and going places were females aren’t really welcome. Miss Marple in my opinion is who Agatha Christie wanted to be if she was a sleuth. Agatha has a way of drawing the reader into the story and making you experience the story in a way where you will believe you are the one solving the murder. Can you figure out who the killer is before the story ends or will you be just as surprised as I was on who the true killer is? You will have to read the story to find out!

Go on a journey to figure out who killed a woman and left her body in a library.
