So today I decided to do another book tag post, because I find them to be really fun, and I believe you can learn a lot about the person from their answers. Today’s book tag is titled Book Reader Problems, and I found it on Adventures of a Bookish Girl website. The original post can be found here (https://adventuresbookishgirl.wordpress.com/2017/11/22/book-reader-problems-tag/). I decided that this would be a fun way for my followers and whoever is reading this post to get to know me a little better!
Let’s get this book tag started!
YOU HAVE 20.000 BOOKS IN YOUR TBR. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT TO READ NEXT?
Normally I determine what type of mood I am in to see what book I want to read next. If nothing jumps out at me, than I take all the books I haven’t read off the shelves, spread them out on my bed and do eenie meanie minee moe to narrow it down.
YOU’RE HALFWAY THROUGH A BOOK AND JUST NOT LOVING IT – DO YOU PUT IT DOWN OR ARE YOU COMMITTED?
If I can’t get into a book, I have to put it down, no matter if I am halfway or not. I can’t force myself to read a book that I am not into at the moment, because I like getting lost in a story. I have noticed that I go through moods when it comes to reading, and if I am not into a book at that moment, I will stop and hopefully come back to it later.
THE END OF THE YEAR IS COMING AND YOU’RE BEHIND ON YOUR READING CHALLENGE. DO YOU TRY TO CATCH UP? AND IF SO, HOW?
I will try to catch up by reading shorter books that I know I can finish in a couple of days. But normally I put my goal at an achievable level, so that I don’t feel pressured to read only to meet a challenge.
THE COVERS OF A SERIES YOU LOVE DO NOT MATCH. HOW DO YOU COPE?
I cope pretty well. The books covers don’t have to match, but I start a series in hardback or paperback or on my kindle, the rest of the series has to match in that way. I will either finish a series on my Kindle or I will make sure that I have the physical copies on my shelves to match the first one.
EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER LOVES A BOOK THAT YOU DO NOT. WHO DO YOU BOND WITH OVER YOUR SHARED FEELINGS?
My co-worker. We actually found that we have the same taste in books, so I know if I come to her about a book I really hated than I will have someone who is on the same thought level of me.
YOU’RE READING A BOOK IN PUBLIC AND YOU’RE ABOUT TO START CRYING. HOW DO YOU DEAL?
I start crying. If I am reading a book, even in public, I will let my feelings out. I have laughed out loud, cried, and snorted while reading especially at work. I don’t care if people give me weird looks, because I can easily ignore them and continue to enjoy my book.
THE SEQUEL TO A BOOK YOU LOVED JUST CAME OUT, BUT YOU’VE FORGOTTEN A LOT OF WHAT HAPPENS. ARE YOU GOING TO REREAD IT?
I normally don’t re-read it unless it has been years since the first one was released. I find that I am normally able to remember what happened in the previous book, when I start reading the sequal. Plus a lot of the sequels come out a year apart, so I don’t have a lot of time to forget about what happened.
YOU DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BORROW YOUR BOOKS. HOW DO YOU POLITELY SAY NO WHEN SOMEONE ASKS?
I change the subject, and tell them where they can find it. I don’t like to let people borrow my books, because anything can happen to them, and I may never get the book back again. I do let my mom borrow my books, but that is only because I know where they are and she gives them back to me.
YOU HAVE PICKED UP AND PUT DOWN 5 BOOKS IN THE LAST MONTH. HOW DO YOU GET OVER THIS READING SLUMP?
I normally take a break from reading at this point. As previously stated I have noticed I go through mood swings, and sometimes I don’t feel like reading. I find that if I take a little break once in a while, than I am more likely to pick up a book and absolutely fall in love with reading all over again.
THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS COMING OUT THAT YOU ARE DYING TO READ, HOW MANY DO YOU END UP BUYING?
All of them. I will eventually buy them even if I have to buy them weeks after they have come out. I spend way too much money on books, but to me that is okay. I have a problem buying books like someone else has a problem buying shoes.
AFTER YOU PURCHASE ALL OF THESE BOOKS YOU’RE DYING TO READ, HOW LONG DO THEY SIT ON YOUR SHELVES BEFORE YOU GET TO THEM?
It really just depends on what type of mood I am on how long they sit on the shelves. I have had some books sit for years or months before I pick them up to read them. I also use them for my eenie meanie minee moe game, if I can’t figure out what type of reading mood I am in.
I hope you learned more about me, and if you would like to do this challenge, than please do! Go find your next wild and crazy adventure fellow readers!
