Violet Eyes Review

Happy Friday!

We have reached the last day in November, and I have another fairytale retelling to share with you all. This retelling is based on the Princess and the pea, and it is one that will have you seeing this fairytale in a whole new light! Violet Eyes by Debbie Viguie takes the reader into a fairytale with a twist you don’t see coming.

The book description was taken from the Goodreads website:

When a storm brings the dashing Prince Richard to her family’s farm, Violet falls in love at first sight. Richard also gives Violet his heart, but he knows his marriage is destined to be an affair of state, not of passion. For the king and queen have devised a contest to determine who will win their son’s hand in marriage.

To be reunited with her prince, Violet must compete against princesses from across the land. It will take all of her wits – and a little help from an unexpected source – if Violet is to demonstrate the depth of her character and become Richard’s bride.”

If you have read the fairytale the Princess and the pea, than you may think you have a good idea on how this book would go. However the way Debbie tells the story will have you thinking twice about the fairytale you thought you knew! Debbie takes the reader into a world where everything is not as it seems, and the reader is sucked into the fairytale. Debbie’s writing will leave you breathless, and will have you enthralled until the very end. This is part of the Once Upon a Time series but all the books are standalones, however once you read this one, you will want to read more by Debbie!

Go on a journey of self discovery and discover if you can really feel a pea under several mattresses!
