Crocodile On The Sandbank Review

Happy Wednesday!

So, today I have another mystery book to review for you all. This book was recommended to me by one of my co-workers. She loves this book, and wanted me to read it because she thought I would love it to, and she was right. Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters, will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end!

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“Amelia Peabody inherited two things from her father: a considerable fortune and an unbendable will. The first allowed her to indulge in her life’s passion. Without the second, the mummy’s curse would have made corpses of them all.”

Amelia Peabody doesn’t take no crap off of anyone, and she is one feisty lady. I was laughing at her antics and loved every minute of reading this book. Her whit with Emerson reminds me of a certain famous couple, which are Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. There bickering brings the story to a whole new level of entertainment. Not to mention this takes place in Egypt and has a lot of reference to ancient Egypt which is one of the things that drew me into this amazing adventure.

Elizabeth’s writing to me reminds me of Agatha Christie’s writing. This mystery will leave you guessing until the very end, and once the truth comes out you won’t have seen it coming, or at least I didn’t. Elizabeth brings the reader into this world, where you fall in love with the characters, and even hate some of them as well. She gives the readers clues to pick up on, but doesn’t give anything away until the very end.

If you love ancient Egypt and a really good mystery that will leave you guessing on how everything ends, than you need to pick up a copy of this amazing book as soon as possible!

Go on an adventure with Amelia to figure out who is behind all the mishaps and mayhem!
