The Lady and The Gent Review

Hey Readers!

Today I am back with another book review, and this falls into the category of Historical Romance! I found that this is one of my favorite genres, and I don’t really remember a time when I haven’t found a book that I didn’t like with this genre. The Lady and the Gent by Rebecca Connolly, mixes historical romance with a hint of mystery in an amazing way!

The book description was taken from the Goodreads website:

“A woman of great fortune…

Margaret Easton needs a husband, and she needs one now. Her parents are convinced that only a European will do, but Margaret wants nothing more than to stay in England. The trouble is that there is only one man Margaret can think of, or rather, one she cannot forget, and he wouldn’t do as a husband at all. Then she finds herself in his care unexpectedly, and her hunt becomes even more complicated than she could have ever imagined.

A man of great mystery…

Rafe Thornton has never said more than ten words to Margaret Easton, but she is rapidly becoming the sole occupant of his thoughts. She is distracting him from his operative work as the Gent, and keeps him from his usual focused nature, which he doesn’t mind at all. When she stumbles into his world, his work and his emotions collide, forcing him to choose between saving the Crown, and protecting his love.”

Rebecca creates the characters of Margaret and Rafe in such a way that the readers will instantly fall in love with them. Margaret is a no nonsense female who knows her heart and will do anything to stay in England. Rafe is an operative that can’t get close to anyone, however when Margaret is thrown into his world, he will start rethinking what’s really important. The journey the story takes Margaret and Rafe take will have readers hooked until the very end.

Rebecca knows how to create a story that will leave readers wanting more. You will be taken on a journey of romance, spies, and lies. This book is guaranteed to entertain until the very end! If you love romance, mystery, and historical fiction than you need to pick up this book as soon as possible!

Go on a romantic and mysterious journey with Margaret and Rafe my dearies!
