Undercover Bromance Review

Hey Everyone!

So, I know I kind of disappeared on you all last week with no warning, which I sincerely apologize for. As I have said before I am trying to get my teaching certificate, which has stressed me out along with my job, but I am trying to get a better balance for this and that. Today I bring you a book that had me laughing, crying, and wanting to reach through the book to strangle the characters. Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams, is laugh out loud comedy romance gold!

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.

Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.

Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.

Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assist Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even while she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.”

So, this is the second book in the series, I haven’t read the first one yet, but in my opinion they could be read as stand alone’s, because the author does such an amazing job with slightly going back and mentioning the previous book, so that you get the idea. Braden Mack was a character I loved and hated all at once, but in a good way. He is definitely a character who has a softer side, that he is afraid to show because he doesn’t want to ruin his reputation. Liv is a sassy, don’t need no man, I can save myself, heroine that I absolutely loved. She does what she wants, and sticks up for what she believes in, no matter the crazy path it takes her on.

Lyssa had me hooked from the very first page, and I became obsessed with this book from the first sentence. It is told from Braden’s and Liv’s POVs so that you can get a better glimpse into these two characters souls. The supporting characters were a hoot and had me laughing until I snorted, which I did a lot while reading this book, by the way. I can’t wait to read the first book, and the rest of the books in this series, because I have fallen in love with this author’s writing and can’t wait to see what her amazing brain comes up with next!

Go on a journey of love and revenge with Braden and Liv my romance lovers!
