Heart’s Desire Review

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week so far, and that it gets better from here! Today, I bring you a review on a slightly older book, but I love this author, and the description of the book hooked me instantly, that I knew I had to do everything in my power to read it! Heart’s Desire by Cameron Dokey, is my dream come true and had me hooked from the beginning.

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“Every girl dreams of that special someone. For some, it’s the boy next door. For others, it’s the Mystery Date…the one they’ll never forget.

Jeannie knew that the antique pendant was something special. The crimson stone, created centuries ago from the stolen heart of an entombed prince, was said to endow its owner with a wonderful but mysterious power. Used carefully, she could be granted whatever her heart truly desired. And what Jeannie desired was a love everlasting…

In ancient Egypt, he was laid to rest. But robbed of his heart, he was robbed of his ability for happiness. And he would not rest in peace until he found his eternal thief of love. Now he has been set free by an unsuspecting girl who holds the key to his past–and the power to soothe his tormented should with a vow of undying passion…”

This is part of Cameron Dokey’s Mystery Date series that I never knew existed, until I was looking on Goodreads and stumbled across it in her book list. It is told from both Jeannie’s and Erik’s POV. Like I said the description drew me to the book, because I have been stuck on romance for a while now, and it has to do with Ancient Egypt and Mummies. I will admit it did start off a little slow for me, however it quickly gained speed and I was instantly hooked. I know that I have been saying that a lot in my posts about books recently, however these books I have been reading hook me.

I am definitely going to read the other books in this series, because Cameron is an amazing writer. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to date a mummy, lol. This was the perfect, clean, YA romance that I didn’t know I needed, until I finished reading it. This book will portal you into a different world and will have you trapped in it’s spell until the very end, and than it may just let you go!

Go on an amazing journey with Jeannie and Erik as they try to figure out Erik’s past!
