Work In Progress Review

Happy June Everyone!

Can you believe that another month of 2020 has come and gone? I feel like since working from home I can’t tell if the time is slowing down or going faster. I sometimes lose track of time, but that is neither here nor there. So, today I bring you another amazing RomCom book that I discovered on my Romance genre reading binge, which yes if you are wondering, I am still currently on the Romance kick, but hey I am finding a lot of amazing books! Work In Progress by Staci Hart, is everything I needed in my life, and can’t believe I just found this book!

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“I never thought my first kiss would be on my wedding day.

But here I stand, clutching a bouquet of pale pink roses behind the doors of a Las Vegas chapel, and at the end of the aisle is the absolute last man I imagined would be waiting for me.

Thomas Bane.

Bestselling author. Notorious bad boy. Savagely handsome, dark as sin, chiseled as stone. And somehow, my soon-to-be husband.

Marry him, and I’ll land my dream job. Save him, and I’ll walk away with everything I’ve ever wanted. All I have to do is remember it’s all for show. None of it is real, no matter how real it feels.

But first, I have to survive the kiss.

And with lips like his, I don’t stand a chance.”

This is the first book I have read by Staci Hart, and let me tell you it won’t be my last. Spoiler alert: After I finished this books, I immediately started reading another book she wrote, and I am currently reading another by her. Needless to say, Staci has become one of my favorite authors, and I can’t believe that I am now just discovering her. She takes romance and creates these amazing characters that are so life like that you feel every emotion they feel. You laugh with them, you cry with them (which I admit there was a lot of ugly crying on my part), but that was because I was so invested in these characters.

The book is told from both characters points of view, so that you get to see the true characters and their feelings come to life. I was so lost in this story that I didn’t want to put it down, and spent many late nights reading, but it was so worth it! Staci has a knack for creating this amazing world that will suck readers into the story. You will feel like you are transported into the story, and that you personally know the characters. Although, this book is the third in her series, it can be read as a standalone, but get ready for spoilers on the first two books, kind of. I have fallen in love with this author, and the magic she creates with her books! If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly suggest you do soon, and let it transport you into a world you will never want to leave!

Go on a magical romantic journey where fake just may turn real, my dear readers!
