Parental Guidence Review

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I spent my weekend with Family and doing my posts for my blog, along with studying for my teachers certificate. Today I bring you a review on a laugh out loud romantic comedy that kept me intrigued until the very end! Parental Guidance by Avery Flynn, is something that anyone who has ever used a dating app can relate to!

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“All I want is to play hockey on the Ice Knights, instead, I’m in a viral video for all the wrong reasons and my mom—yes, my mom—has taken over my dating apps. Then, when I think it can’t get any worse, the fates deliver Zara Ambrose, a five-feet-nothing redhead with more freckles than inches and who’d rather be anywhere other than on a date with me.

Now a bet with her friends and my PR nightmare have us both stuck in this go-on-five-dates-with-the-same-person hell situation. But if we band together, we can get the whole thing over with and go on with our lives. It’s perfect! No feelings. No future. No fuc— ahem fun. No naked fun.

What could go wrong? Nothing—as long as I remember the rules. Don’t notice the way she looks in a dress. Don’t react when she does that little shivery sigh thing whenever we touch. Don’t think about the fact that she’s never had a toe-curling orgasm that wasn’t self-delivered and just how badly I want to change that.

Five dates—that’s it—and then we go our separate ways. At least, that was the plan.”

Zara and Caleb are the main characters of this book, and their actions around each other are hilarious. Caleb is a hockey player who has to fix his image, so his mom signs him up for a dating app, where your parent picks your date. Zara doesn’t get out much, so her friend talks her into signing up for the app. From their first meeting until the end, this book kept me engaged in the story. I laughed, I cried, and I never stopped yelling at these two to wake up. It’s told from both their POVs, which I have said many times I love because you get more of the story that way.

Avery Flynn has created something wonderful with this book, and she made me feel like I was right there with the characters, and experiencing everything with them. This is such a fun filled, light fun read, that will leave you feeling very satisfied once you finish reading it. If you love romance, hockey, and just a good old fashion story you could relate to, then you need to read this book as soon as possible!
