Happy Monday Fellow Readers!
I hope everyone had an amazing and relaxing weekend! I was a lucky winner to win an advanced readers copy via the Goodreads website. I want to thank the publisher Berkley Jove for providing me with my ARC. Not Like The Movies by Kerry Winfrey is the sequal to Waiting For Tom Hanks, which my review of that one can be found here: https://iwontsayiminlovewithreading.wordpress.com/2019/08/05/waiting-for-tom-hanks-review/.
The book description comes from the Goodreads website:
” What happens when your life is a rom-com…but you don’t even believe in true love?
Chloe Sanderson is an optimist, and not because her life is easy. As the sole caregiver for her father, who has early onset Alzheimer’s, she’s pretty much responsible for everything. She has no time—or interest—in getting swept up in some dazzling romance. Not like her best friend Annie, who literally wrote a rom-com that’s about to premiere in theaters across America…and happens to be inspired by Chloe and Nick Velez, Chloe’s cute but no-nonsense boss.
As the buzz for the movie grows, Chloe reads one too many listicles about why Nick is the perfect man, and now she can’t see him as anything but Reason #2: The Scruffy-Bearded Hunk Who’s Always There When You Need Him. But unlike the romance Annie has written for them, Chloe isn’t so sure her own story will end in a Happily Ever After.”
When you read Waiting For Tom Hanks you fall in love with the characters of Chloe and Nick. This book gives the readers a more in depth look into their characters, and everything that is going on with them. I laughed, I cried, and I loved getting to see Annie and Drew appear in the story and seeing what those two were up to. I loved learning more about Chloe and Nick in this book as well.
I don’t want to give too much of it away, because I don’t want to spoil anything, but Kerry does a beautiful story of these two characters. She has a knack for drawing you into the story, making you fall in love with the characters, and becoming very invested in their lives. This Rom Com is filled with everything you love about a romance, and of course it’s full of coffee and pie! This is one book you don’t want to miss, although I suggest you read Waiting For Tom Hanks first so you can understand a little bit more of the story. This book , will be released on July 7, 2020. This is one new release you won’t want to miss!
