Phantom Heart Review

So, you know that I love all things Phantom of the Opera, I mean have you seen my bear lol. So when I found this book, I knew right away that I needed to have it and it did not disappoint! Plus look at this beautiful cover!!!

The book description is as follows:

“Seventeen-year-old Stephanie Armand doesn’t believe in ghosts or spirits. Despite her six-year-old sister, Charlie, insisting a masked figure is hiding in her closet, and the rumors at school, Stephanie isn’t convinced her father’s latest renovation project–a crumbling Victorian mansion–houses the soul of a monster.

So when the very charming (and paranormal obsessed) Lucas Cheney takes an interest in both Stephanie and her notorious home, the supernatural and romantic activity escalates to an all-time high. And that doesn’t even take into account the dashing, British-accented eighteen-year-old boy, Erik, who’s taken up residence in Stephanie’s nightly dreams. A boy who may have something to do with the man in the mask, and the strange occurrences taking place at Moldavia.”

This book has all the nods to Phantom of the Opera, while the author Kelly Creagh makes the story her own. She takes what lovers of Phantom know and love and throws in a dash of mystery, that will keep you guessing until the very end. This book is told in three points of view, which I loved because it gives the reader more insight into the characters. I loved the character of Erik and how Kelly created him to be this character that you can fall in love with. I did like the character of Stephanie, although I was screaming at her to get with the program a little bit. I will admit I did not like the character of Lucas though, but this could be steaming from me not really caring for the character Lucas is supposed to be.

I don’t want to give anything away, but if you love Phantom of the Opera like I do, you love mystery, intrigue and a book that will suck you in, this book is for you! The author creates such an amazing world that you will never want to leave!
