So This Is Love Review

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend, and have been staying safe during this trying time. Today I bring you another book in the Twisted Tales series, and another amazing retelling of a classic story. So This Is Love by Elizabeth Lim, is a beautiful retelling of Cinderella, that lovers of the classic are sure to fall in love with!

The book description comes from the Goodreads website:

“What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Unable to prove that she’s the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella attempts a fresh start, looking for work at the palace as a seamstress. But when the Grand Duke appoints her to serve under the king’s visiting sister, Cinderella becomes witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king-and the prince-out of power, as well as a longstanding prejudice against fairies, including Cinderella’s own Fairy Godmother. Faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom, Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present . . . before it’s too late.”

Besides the book being a retelling of Cinderella, what grabbed my attention was the description. What would happen if Cinderella never got to try on the glass slipper? Elizabeth takes that question, and puts her own unique spin on this beloved classic, without ever abandoning the true spirit of the original story. I was hooked from page one, and I loved seeing the characters I loved in a different light. The evil person will surprise you, and you will fall in love with the new characters that Elizabeth created. The story is told from different POVs in some places, which as you all know, I absolutely love because I feel like you get more of the story that way. If you love the tale of Cinderella, you need to pick up a copy of this book as soon as possible!

Go on a twisted adventure, as Cinderella navigates a new journey, and see if true love is enough, and will bring Cinderella and her Prince together in the end!
